This was a 24-7, factory project where the quality of the product was determined by a series of control parameters. These control parameters were established using PID loops relying on measured characteristics of the previous product.
Programs created by Livesay were written either in C++ or Visual Basic. These programs worked in concert with a large number of other programs by using a central database accessed using ODBC. This database was both a temporary repository for product tracking, a place where error reporting could occur with alarms being generated by stored procedures, a repository for PID loop control information and as long term storage of production information.
This project has been running mostly unattended for several years.
